Karl-Anthony Towns explodes with 29 points but Lakers beat Minnesota
LOS ANGELES - LeBron James scored 25 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out 12 assists for his 99th career triple-double and led the Los Angeles Lakers to a 137-121 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Montrezl Harrell finished with 25 points for the reigning NBA champion, who chained his third consecutive victory on the court. Dennis Schröder had 16 points and seven assists, while Kyle Kuzma and Talen Horton-Tucker each had 16 points and shone in the second half as the Lakers pulled away on the league's worst record for Minnesota. James had his fifth triple-double of the season midway through the fourth quarter. Only four players in NBA history have reached 100 triple-doubles, including Lakers assistant coach Jason Kidd (107). Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards each scored 29 points for the Timberwolves, who were coming off winning two of their last three games for the first time since December. Minnesota made 52% of its shots to the basket against one of the best defenses in the NBA, but allowed eight rival players to score at least eight points.
